Hebburn Station

Apologies to whoever submitted this photo - I can't give a credit because I've lost the original email

Mike (Site Editor) was guest on Ian Robinson's Radio Newcastle 'Roots' programme in January 2002 when a lovely lady called Christina Barsby rang in to ask if there were any photos of Hebburn Station, where she had been born - in her Grandfather's (Joseph William Robley) house.

Mr Robley was then the station master at Hebburn but his family originally came from Fourstones near Hexam. He had one daughter and six sons, one of whom (Robert Nevison Robley) was killed during the Great War.

By lucky chance the one photo of the station which had been sent to the Hebburn site was indeed Christina's grandfather.
