The Hebburn Web site Message Board is intended solely to focus on non-commercial issues relating to Hebburn and Hebburn people. It is specifically NOT a soapbox to air personal grievences, have a moan or make a compaint.

These rules have been established so that everyone can get the most out of the Hebburn Message Board by making it safe and fun.

• Any posting on the Hebburn Web site Message Board must include a bona fide personal email address, currently used by that poster.
• Contributions must be civil and tasteful. Please do not repost jokes you have seen on other sites, especially if they have any adult humour.
• No disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour
• Contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble.
• No unlawful or objectionable content: unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is acceptable.
• No spamming or off-topic material:
• Do not post personal information about someone else without that person's express permission. If you have a helpful address to share, inform the Site Editor and he will promote it as deems appropriate.
• References to contemporary (i.e. current) politics are specifically not allowed on the message board. There are many other sites which welcome discussion of this type.
• References to current Premiership / Football League teams and their relative performance (in particular Newcastle & Sunderland) are specifically not allowed on the message board. There are many better sites for discussion of this type.
• The Hebburn Web site Message Board is intended to have broad interest. Whilst use of the Message Board to make initial contact is therefore welcomed, extended personal communications are more appropriate to email. Inappropriately personal discussion threads may therefore be locked or deleted.
• Visitors are welcome to use the board to promote a Hebburn-specific not-for-profit event (e.g. exhibition, concert, fair etc.) but under no circumstances is commercial advertising allowed.
• No inappropriate (e.g. vulgar, offensive, football-related etc) user names
• Be patient: Remember that users of all ages and levels of internet experience may be taking part.
• Try to write in plain English: Don't use text message type language
  

About the law
You may not submit any defamatory or illegal material of any nature. This includes text, graphics, video, programs or audio. Contributing material with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act is strictly prohibited. You agree to only post materials which are your own original work or links to material which is located on the source site. You may not violate, plagiarise, or infringe on the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, personal, publicity, or proprietary rights.

Anyone who visits the Message Board acknowledges that the Site Editor cannot be held responsible for the behaviour of other visitors. The Board is only intended to provide a discussion venue. In particular, you should be aware that the Hebburn Web site does not pre-screen or monitor the material contributed by other visitors. A post represents the views of the individual making it and DOES NOT represent the views of the Hebburn Web site. Posters are however responsible for ensuring that no material you post, or which is posted through a machine on which you access, nor any activity or communication you make in connection with the Hebburn Web site Message Board will be capable of (a) infringing the intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity, (b) breaching any applicable law, whether criminal, tortious or otherwise, or (c) appearing to be offensive, threatening, obscene, pornographic, false, unreliable or misleading.

If you are under 16
You are very welcome to taking part in the Hebburn Web site Message Board but please get your parents' permission first. Remember, young people should never reveal any personal information on chatrooms or message boards. Get a 'disposable' free email address from Hotmail, Yahoo etc. and just ditch it if there's any problems. But never give your home address or phone number.

If you breach these Hebburn Web site Rules
The Hebburn Web site reserves the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any poster, at any time, for any reason. lf you fail to abide by these rules your post will be deleted. There is no entitlement to a 'yellow card' type warning or written explanation.
If you post or send offensive or inappropriate content or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on the Hebburn Web site Message Board, the Site Editor may use whatever information that is available about you to stop any further such infringements. This may include informing relevant third parties such as your employer, school or internet service provider about the infringement/s. (Please remember that your IP number and browser details are recorded every time you make post. The email address you supply is irrelevant to this process.)
